In keeping with the mission and goals of our Founders, the Tallahassee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is committed to education through its scholarship and mentoring programs. One of the major initiatives of the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust is Educational Development. To fulfill this programmatic thrust, each year, the Tallahassee Alumnae Chapter awards numerous scholarships to high school seniors and college-level students who have achieved high academic excellence and have a positive impact on their community and school through community service, volunteerism and extracurricular activities. These scholarships allow recipients to pay for tuition, fees, books, or other related expenses at a university, four-year college, community college, or technical school. Since 2013, the chapter has awarded over $250,000 in scholarships. This year, we will award another $50,000 to graduating seniors and current college-level students.
